CAN YOU SPONSOR A
CHILD’S EDUCATION?
-
A novice teacher earns
around £12 a month, rising to £20 once qualified
-
The Head Teacher earns
approximately £40 a month
-
Training a teacher costs a
course
By
organising a regular contribution to the teachers’ salaries GamBLE can
guarantee that every child in the village has the opportunity to benefit
from a creative and thorough education. Sponsorship forms available from
01622 814027
or
here online.
Make www.everyclick.com/uk/gamble
your home page and search engine and use it whenever you search the web.
It costs you nothing but will
raise much needed money for our charity. Thank you.
FUND-RAISING.
We would like to thank
everybody who has contributed in funds and in deeds towards the project
over the last few months. As well as large events (such as the annual BBQ)
we gain a great deal from local events such as coffee mornings and the
Craft Stall.

Since February 2003 the project has
become a charity with five Trustees who, with a Board of Directors in Farato
and the school PTA, support and organise the fund-raising. The latter has
taken the form of annual BBQ’s in private gardens, an Art Exhibition,
coffee mornings, a variety of musical concerts, sponsored drive from
Plymouth to Dakaar, sponsored dragon boat race, auction of promises and
direct giving.
At all these events GamBLE run a craft stall stocked with
items bought in The Gambia: woodcraft, batik, jewellery and drums.
If you would like to have this stall at a coffee morning or school
fair, please contact Pauline Mack 01622 812296.
Pauline Mack and
her friend Jackie have had
a very successful year
taking the stall to a variety of local events. They are keen to expand their
patch, so if anyone would like a Gambian stall at a fair, coffee morning or
any other public occasion, please contact
Pauline on 01622
