Currently,
GamBLE focuses its work on the village of Farato, Gambia, near Banjul
airport and 25k from the capital, Banjul.
We work closely with the villagers and encourage cultural exchanges.
Volunteers from England regularly travel to Farato to taste the
Gambian experience: assisting with teaching, gardening, building
maintenance as well as taking part in Gambian village life: learning
skills such as African cooking, African drumming, batik and the local
languages – Mandinka, Fula and Wolof. |
GamBLE
is a small charity based in Yalding, Kent, that supports education in the
Gambia.
Our aim is to develop nursery and primary education in the Gambia,
West Africa by building schools and their infrastructure: wells, walls and
gardens as well as providing teacher training support in partnership with
the Gambian government’s Primary Education and Early Childhood
Development program.
