CAN YOU
SPONSOR A
CHILD’S EDUCATION?
-
A novice
teacher earns around £12 a month, rising to £20 once qualified
-
The Head
Teacher earns approximately £40 a month
-
Training a
teacher costs a course

By
organising a regular contribution to the teachers’ salaries GamBLE can

Yalding Garden Society
Donation.
Following a talk by Tony Di
Marco about the work of GamBLE at the Yalding Garden Society it was
decided that they would make a generous donation towards a solar powered
water pump that will make a huge difference to the local community in
Farato, Gambia where the GamBLE project is active.

The
6th
annual

BBQ
raised
£1,400. This will help to build the third classroom next year in Farato
although a further £4,000 will be needed.
Construction
of the first two classrooms of the new primary school block is under way
and it is hoped the children in grades 1 and 2 will start the new term in
September in the new accommodation.
A volunteer
from London has recently raised enough money to build a pump for the
school well. This will mean that the water will literally be on tap.
