Silk Paintings

The transluscence of the silk and depth of colour offered by steam-fixed dyes offer opportunites for a wide range of effects.

Impressed by the the quality of light through water used by Daniel Jean-Baptiste I decided to experiment and in this picture of a turtle I tried to incorporate it into my own work

This picture capitalises on the range of  blues available in steam-fix dyes.  The finished work is backed with padding and stretched over a hardboard base.
