When I was new I once
roamed the mine blind typing get all at each location which was great until I
picked up a piece of uranium. As you can imagine it was only til I was at deaths
door did it sink in what was killing me and when I could hear the whoosh of lots
water being released it wasn't just the uranium I dropped<gg>
With a bit of preparation
you could have got a lit brand or a glow then it wouldn't have mattered. That's
easy for me to say but when your new you just do two things ... get T swamp T.
Lit brands are my nemesis.
God knows how many times I've blown myself up. (Especially when someone at the
rapids gives you a brand without you noticing and then boom just when you go to
type drop T. (Maybe there should be a top 100 of blower uppers?)
Now asking for a glow is
the easy option and if no mortal will then a wiz will normally but with a cost.
It never occurred to me why they would charge its not as though they need the
points but if you think about it they are trying to do you a favor, trying to
make you get it yourself. If you want directions on getting a glow then go to

When I first started
playing I never gave it a thought, I would merrily ask for glows here and there.
Getting one myself seemed to much hard work. It was only when I read Cats forum
when I saw a posting from Marlight about glows. As Marlight said , it doesn't
take much to get a glow and it will save pestering other players. Well I took
this onboard and yes after a few times its easy (especially with the amount of
minus T I find). Just remember lit brands still have a use though, especially
those who aren't magic users. So, do I still blow myself up... well lets just
say the next time you hear a loud boom just get the first aid ready for Morloc<gg>
