Read Me: I knew you could not resist! You will have noticed that these results are on the KFO WebSite. If you enjoyed your run around Gauldry's fields on Saturday, you may like to try Orienteering, which is a navigational race, usually in woodland and moorland. This is a sport for all the family - you do not have to be super fit, nor do you have to have any navigational experience. We can arrange coaching in that. When you have finished reading the Gauldry Gallop results, have a browse around the KFO Site, and visit the SOA (Scottish Orienteering Association) site, too. Hope to see you and your family at an event soon.

Organiser's Report

I ordered in the beautiful weather for the 26th running of the Gauldry Gallop cross country races, and 174 competitors turned out to enjoy it. As it hasn't rained significantly for many months, the set-aside fields used for the courses were quite dry, and there were no mud besplattered runners afterwards. In the junior races, I was really pleased to see so many girls taking part.

This was my first year as organiser, and I was extremely grateful to Alan Faulds (who, as most of you will know, has organised the Gallop for the past 25 years) for showing me the ropes, and standing by in moments of crisis. Thanks also to the many helpers without whom the Races would not happen: to the stewards, to the declaration and results team, to the people serving soup at the finish and teas in the Hall, to the finishing team, and to everyone else who helped. We are very grateful to everyone who provided food for the teas, which are always much appreciated by the runners. Thanks are also due to the landowners who again allowed the races to be run on their land.

Next year I will place information on this web site well in advance of the Races about their length and routes, start times etc, so keep an eye on it nearer the time.

Thanks everyone for coming and I hope to see you again next November.

Dave Ellison
