Reflections on Church Assembly

By Ronan, Brennan, Molly, Kye, Natasha and William

It was cold
We learnt about Birthdays
We light the candle
You see too many faces
You feel jumpy inside
The chairs are hard because they are made of wood
They’re cold
I like soft seats....with arms.

They have square things on the floor
There are faces and crowns
Like cushions
They are to look at when there’s nothing to do
They are to kneel on when you pray

There is a piano; it sounds good
We go in line with a partner and take hymn books
The church is really special
Because people go to the church to be Christened and
married
And there’s a flag on the top of the church.
There are beautiful windows which are pointed and
curved like a rainbow
I was Christened there.

Reflections on going to a Church Assembly

By Brendon, Loren, Ashley, Thomas and Jacob

 It felt very cold
And windy too
The seats are very long
There are pictures in the windows
Coloured ones
It’s cold
There are pictures of things before people were invented
There are fountains on the wall, which shot out water years and
years ago
We see a big candle to light when it’s dark
It’s for Christmas
Jesus died so we light the candle
Christians light candles
No, we light candles
We sit on our coats; they feel soft and warm
There are cushions - they’re hard- but nice to feel
You put your feet on them!

I look in the mirror and what do I see?

By Jasmine, Katelyn, Curtis, Ashley and Anna

 Me!
My face
Me
My eyes
My teeth
Me
I lost a tooth on Friday night
I lost a tooth at Christmas
My eyes
They are brown and blue
And all colours too
Pink?
I see my tongue
My nose
My hair
My forehead
My cheeks
My earrings
Ears, lips, eyelashes, nostrils, chins
Blue eyes
Brown eyes
Black eyes wooooooo
Cat’s got green eyes
I see you!
