Theatrix, a subsection of the Players catering for members up to 25 years of age. The following is an extract from the minutes of the last committee meeting showing the proposals for a summer workshop and the future of Theatrix tabled by Angela Timms and accepted by the committee. "Angela Timms was proposing to hold a one-week drama workshop at Brackenleas School w/c 07 August 2000, the sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday would run from 1pm-4pm and be aimed at 8-13 year olds whilst Thursday and Friday would be all day sessions for 14-17 year olds. It was agreed that for insurance purposes anyone attending would be required to become a junior member and pay the £5.00 subscription. It was further agreed that, dependent upon the uptake, weekly drama sessions for the junior members of the Society could restart in September 2000. Angela would arrange for posters, flyers etc to be produced and sent to the local schools. In addition existing and "recently lapsed" junior members would be advised by mailshot. Anna advised that the Tourist Information Centre produce a pack giving details of local activities running through the summer holidays and asked for details to be passed to her as soon as possible for inclusion in this. Following a proposal from Andrew Garnett it was agreed by the committee that a budget of £100.00 be allocated to the Summer workshop, Angela Timms then left the meeting". |
