Ernie Chester was apprenticed to him. He lost his trade and came into Shrewsbury. He married Edie Pointon who was (somebody's) half sister [Edward Pointon, presumably]. She left him anyway. Judy Davies remembers him selling tomatoes in Shrewsbury Market. He was always in trouble with the police. He had a son called Walter who went to live with his aunt in America [Fanny or Eliza]. He had a daughter - Dora who ended up in a psychiatric hospital. He had a son, Clarence who George described as a "nut case". Clarence had a market stall [in Shrewsbury?] Clarence married an older woman and had an affair with a woman on the market. John died in the gutter in London.

So, despite the lack of a record of a marriage in a Parish Register, it seems likely that this is the Eleanor who married George Davis]
