Gentle Touch Homoeopathic Remedies (UK)

What is Homoeopathy?

Homoeopathy, like many words in the English language, is derived from the Greek words "Homoios" and pathos". Translated this means "like suffering". Homoeopathy is essentially the medical practice of treating like with like. The present day use of Homoeopathy stems from the work of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, an early 19th century physician. His first discovery concerned the action of Cinchona bark, which had been used by contemporary doctors to treat malaria. Hahnemann, as a healthy person, took a material dose of the bark and found that it caused him to exhibit the symptoms of malaria. He then went on to successfully treat people suffering from the illness using dilute doses of the same bark. Homoeopathy is essentially natural healing. The remedies assist the patient to regain health by stimulating natures vital forces of recovery. Homoeopathic medicines are safe, gentle and effective.

Our aim is to supply remedies at the lowest price to enable as many people to benefit from Homoeopathy whatever their income. Pets too can benefit and in these days of restrictive insurances, especially on older pets or large/giant breeds Homoeopathy can and does offer an economical way of treating symptoms that may otherwise not be covered by insurance, e.g. Arthritis.

If you know what remedy you require simply go to E-mail us now (many remedies may be available but not listed.)

If you are unsure of the remedy you require then go to Symptom Description Section. There you will find a list of remedies and what they are most commonly used for. If you have been recommended a remedy but not specifically what it treats then go to a Brief Guide to the Use of Selected Remedies.

All listings are Alphabetical.

If your symptoms do not show improvement after 14 days of taking your chosen remedy it may need changing or alteration in the frequency of dosing. You are advised to seek the advice of a qualified practitioner for complicated cases or whenever you are uncertain. Homoeopathy can be safely used for first aid and for self treatment of various disorders however for serious conditions or when in doubt of the problem you are strongly advised to seek the advice of a suitably qualified practitioner e.g. Homoeopath, Homoeopathic Vet or Doctor. A list of these can be obtained from:

British Homoeopathic Association, 27A Devonshire Street, London W1N 1RJ

How to Use the Guide

To choose a remedy from this guide, read the Symptom Description Section under the appropriate illness heading to find the remedy which most closely fits your own symptom picture. Signs are what can be seen, symptoms are how you feel. Remedies are offered in many potencies, from 6C to 1M and LM and can, therefore, be made to order.

The dose should be: Adults & children, 1 or 2 tablets to be dissolved on or under the tongue, or chewed. Unless otherwise directed, for acute conditions 1 dose 2 hourly for up to 6 doses. Thereafter and where less acute, 1 dose 3 times a day between meals for no more than 1 month.

Watch the response to each dose. When improvement is felt increase the period between doses. Continue for 2 days and then stop. Repeat the dose only if the original symptoms recur.

If you are already familiar with homeopathic medicines and need just a quick reference to see if you have selected the right remedy, look for the Brief Guide to the Use of Selected Remedies section in this guide which lists the homeopathic remedies in alphabetical order. A Homoeopathic doctor should be consulted if no improvement is felt from the chosen remedy.
