LAIDS LATEST RESIDENT.
KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR LOTTE.
Danish - Born sculptor Lotte Glob is sure of one thing, she never wants to leave Scotland. Lotte's love of the North Western Scottish landscape seems to be fused into the ceramic art she produces.

Clearly her environment helps
feed her imagination and inspires her. She lived for many years in Durness,
Sutherland, where her Far north pottery is based.
Lotte studdied ceramics as a teenager in Denmark then in ireland and France, before setteling in Scotland in 1968. Now 51, shes as energetic and as lithe as a mountain goat. Not surprising, perhaps when you learn that she often climbs up mountains to leave one of her sculptures at the top. Her "Pot Spots", as Lotte calls them, are dotted from Cape Wrath to Torness, linking into what she describes as her "Ultimate Rock Garden"

She records everything about her excursions - weather, time, her emotions and her observations. Finally, after placing her pots she photographs each one. From her hikes she brings back materials such as rock and sediments, from which she creates her sculptures. As you can see from these pictures, her creations blend magnificently with the natural settings.
