Including the scripts in !ArmTCP.
- Assuming you have the latest version of !Boot, you need to open "!Boot.Resources.!Internet.files.PPP" and add a text file called CHAPSecret (or chap-secr if using Sergio Monesi's PPPDriver instead of Acorn's PPP module) which contains the following:
YOUR.ACCOUNT@yourISP.com (space) * (space) yourpassword
replacing YOUR.ACCOUNT@yourISP.com with your full account name, (space) with a space or tab, and yourpassword with... do I really need to spell it out?
NOTE: Due to recent changes introduced by Tesconet, you should enter your user ID in all lower case.
- Locate !ArmTCP on your hard drive
- <Shift> double-click on the !ArmTCP icon, then do the same with !ATCPconfg, then load the file "ISP-Modem" into a text editor.
- Place the cursor at the end of the text, and drag in the downloaded script file.
- Load up ArmTCP and use the Choices menu item to configure your account. Click here for more detailed instructions.
- Note that although usernames are NOT normally case sensitive, if the case is different between your !ArmTCP account and your CHAPsecret (or chap-secr) file you will NOT be able to connect.
