The Norwegian Buhund Club was formed in
1967 and is registered with the Kennel Club. . The club holds
three shows a year; open shows in spring and early summer and a
championship show in the Autumn. . The club is generally considered to be friendly,
if you are a friend of the breed you will be given a warm welcome
at all club events. . Membership is open to pet owners and overseas
members as well as breeders and exhibitors. . For information
about joining the club telephone one of the officers or send us an e-mail.
Members of the club have been very generous and there are
trophies on offer to club members for numerous classes at each
show. . The
club also runs a points scoring system from which annual points trophies are awarded.
Buhund of the year is calculated by taking the number of Kennel
Club Challenge Certificates (CCs) won in the year first. . To break any ties
this is followed by the number of Best of Breeds at shows with
CCs and then the number of Reserve CCs awarded.
All other trophies are based on points as shown

The club has a Breed Working Party to examine and study any evidence of conditions in the breed that may be heriditary in nature. . Through the working party members are warned about any conditions that occur and can take steps to avoid breeding puppies with the conditions.
