In May 2000, following a request from the Bowls Club, a generous grant was given to Bungay Bowls Club by Bungay Town Trust to erect four seats on the bank overlooking the green for member of the public to use. The seats, built of metal and teak, were made by Jimmy Deacon. The seats were securely positioned for the 2001 season.

The above photograph was taken in September 2000 and shows the unveiling of the seats by the Town Reeve, Reginald McDaniel (far right). Also present were the following Bowls Club officials: (from left to right), Chairman Ted Knowles, Secretary Ian Gosling and President Frank Honeywood.
