With generous sponsorship from Parravani's Ice Cream, members of Bungay Bowls Club staged a mini-tournament to raise funds for the Bungay-based Scott Charity. The charity uses it funds to purchase equipment and services for Bungay Surgery as well as for local people who otherwise might not be able to obtain the medical attention they require.

Thirty-six players were drawn into 12 teams of triples, who were then divided into two qualifying groups of six. After playing three matches the winning triple in each group met in the final. The only triple to win all three matches in Group A was Brian Jennings, Harold Mickleburgh and Cora Mickleburgh. Two triples won all three matches in Group B, but the Dominic Belisario, Barbara Plaisted and Stella Minns triple managed to gain a shot difference of 20 shots over the Frank Honeywood, Roger Bullen and Diane Manning triple to reach the final. In a closely fought final, in which neither triple scored more than two shot on any of the ten ends, the Brian Jennings' triple comfortable won by 10 shots to 4.

After an excellent buffet Harold Pulford of the Scott Charity presented the prizes to the winners while Bungay President Frank Honeywood presented a cheque for £150 to the Scott Charity on behalf of sponsors Paul and Sharon Parravani and Bungay Bowls Club. The President also thanked Janet Deacon and Judy Gosling for their efforts in providing the buffet and Dominic Belisario for organising the afternoon.
