Below is a map which shows our home town of Stevenage and the start (St. Bees Head) and finish (Robin Hood's Bay) points for the coast 2 coast. For our journey to Robin Hood's Bay with a van and two cars and then on to the Lake District with just the van, our trusted transport along with our bikes, I used a useful software programme which is available from Microsoft called AutoRoute Express ©1988-1995. It can give you an idea of how long journey times are likly to be, it doesn't take into account traffic problems, and the cost of petrol that is going to be consumed. Alternately you could always use a map/atlas to give you a rough estimate if you don't have access to this or other route planners.
