THE BEARDED
PLAYWRIGHT

A page about me...

Born in 1983, Birmingham, England. I lived in Dudley, Halesowen then Doncaster and now I live in Worcestershire.  I have been writing plays since I was twelve, hopefully getting better each time. I enjoy the music of Hans Zimmer, the plays of Henrik Ibsen  and the original Ghostbusters. I also enjoy drama and acting and have studied Drama at GCSE and A level. I intend to go on to university studying History.

I enjoy comedy, especially The Goon show and Blackadder, as well as films and going out with mates. I feel I have written only one play that can be considered "decent", but I hope I will continue to get better and somebody will commission me, or want to see my plays fully.

My writing:

I have been writing since I was in year 8 when I was 12. My plays were very silly to say the least, but with each attempt I have learnt more about the technique and style I need to achieve. To date, my better plays have been A Life Of War and The Lighthouse. The latter being one of the more recent plays and having actually been performed. When I developed it through a writers workshop at the Birmingham rep theatre, I found that this is ideally what I want to be. I enjoy writing for the stage and would like to be a playwright. I am still writing, and taking steps to get my work seen, hence this website.  I'm going to university soon (hopefully) and I intend to keep up writing.  Watch this space.
