THE EARLY WORK

Pyrite Creek

As you can see, with a huge cast, this play was not small. It was the second collaboration with Robert Barker, and justifiably has been the last. Deciding that two gold prospectors would stumble upon gold in horse poo (!!!!), it would be a comedy. Along the way they would meet gambling Indians and stupid outlaws, and a miner content to mine rocks and throw away gold. This was performed in part through the dram group, but unlike Then There Was One, did little to enhance mine or Roberts reputation as writers. It was hard even to find a piece of script to put on this page, which says a lot considering the total play is over thirty pages long.
