Patient Profile There are 21 residential places for adult male patients. Referrals are considered from a wide range of services and agencies. Emphasis is placed on providing services for people from the local community but we may accept from a wider geographical area. Suitability is assessed by multi-agency disciplinary and multi-agency assessment. Patients will be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 and may require specialist support as part of their rehabilitation. In order to comply with standards of care and meet our clinical aims, we may not normally admit patients in the following categories: • History of sex offence and risk of re-offending • History of fire setting and risk of re-offending • Current alcohol or substance dependency • Significant physical disability or illness that requires specific environment support • Learning disabilities
