Edgware CTC ~ What do we do?

Our main activity is the Sunday club run - as you can see from our current runs list our bike rides start either from Bushey Heath (Alpine restaurant), Bushey Station, Croxley Green (Harvester Restaurant) or Edgwarebury Lane (where it meets Barnet Lane). The rides are steady paced, 50+ miles with a break for elevenses, lunch at a pub and a tea stop too (sometimes at churches) in the summer. Some people stay out all day, others join or leave at elevenses or lunch - depending on fitness, enthusiasm and family commitments. We visit a variety of destinations in the Chilterns, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, avoiding main and busy roads wherever possible, but we aren't afraid of hills and we do occasionally take to well surfaced bridle paths. If this all sounds too much for you, have a look at the other CTC clubs in the area and see if they would suit you better.

Other Edgware events include the club night on the second Thursday of each month - topics include slide shows, holiday albums, route planning, favourite bonk rations ..... check the runs list for details. We also have several weekends away each year, usually on Bank Holidays. For closer destinations a group cycles there and back. Others drive.

And we also go for walks - yes, we are a cycling club but sometimes it's nice to have non-cycling family and friends join us. Every year we all go off to Castleton in Derbyshire for a weekend in November to see the Christmas lights and enjoy the excellent walking in the area. The New Year's Day walk is another fixture - this is a local one.
