Hertfordshire CTC

Herts DA consists of four sections (Western Section, North Herts, St Albans and Hatfield, and Bishops Stortford) and offers start points spread around the whole county. Each section arranges Sunday rides throughout the year varying from about 45 miles in the winter months to 60 miles in the summer months. The rides include cafe stops for elevenses and a sociable pub lunch. In the summer there is also a tea stop in the afternoon. Do not worry if you cannot spare the time to stay out for the full day; it is quite acceptable to return home after elevenses or lunch. The rides take advantage of quiet leafy Hertfordshire lanes and usually manage to visit Bucks, Beds or Essex destinations without having to use A roads for more than a few hundred yards. St Albans and North Herts sections also offer mid-week evening rides all year round. The DA also organises special events, eg reliability rides, and Audax rides together with a program of weekend tours using Hostels and/or B&Bs.

Visit the CTC website for listings of all local groups.
