Mountain Bike Centres (MBC) are a relatively new concept. A series of downhill and circular routes are laid out in a tract of country dedicated to the purpose and are colour coded, like ski runs, for different levels of cycling ability. The Seven Stanes project provides 7 centres featuring a distinctive Stane as a centrepiece. Every centre has a starting point for a variety of waymarked cross-country trails and circuits. Some have a visitor centre, cafe and bicycle hire and cleaning facilities.
