Dedication Event

Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000, from 3.00 pm

The new Hacheston bells will be dedicated on Easter Sunday, April 23rd 2000. The service will be taken by the Revd Harry Edwards, whose vision to restore the derelict bells was the catalyst for the project. All grant awarding bodies, donors and sponsors will receive a formal invitation to the event; everyone is very welcome to join us to see what has been acheived.

The church will be open from 3.00 pm for guests to inspect the bells and ringing chamber, see the draft Book of Donors, see an album of photographs, watch a video record of the project including the casting of the new bells, and see artefacts from the old ring and frame. Afternoon tea will be served at 4.00 pm.

It is hoped the newly-formed Hacheston band will ring a short service touch, while an invited band of local ringers will ring the first Quarter Peal on the restored bells. After the service, refreshements will be served in a marquee in the churchyard.
