SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Kingston Diamonds Ice Hockey Club Sponsorship Pack

The Kingston Diamonds Ice Hockey Club was formed in September 1990, being originally known as the Humberside Diamonds Ice Hockey Club. The club operates out of the Hull Arena and is proud to have longest established team to play from the venue. The club is open to all regardless of sex however the team is only open to females whatever age, ability, colour, race or religion. The team operates under English Ice Hockey Association regulations, stipulating the standards of safety, coaching and management to ensure equity and the well being of members. The Club is governed by the Clubs constitution, formally adopted in July 2002. The Clubs aim is to promote the sport of ice hockey to all females within the Humber region. Through the medium of ice hockey members gain confidence, greater self esteem and social skills that may be applied to daily life in addition to learning the skills needed to play such a physically and mentally demanding sport.

In the promotion of ice hockey to females, the club has its own team competing in the women’s section British Premier division, the Kingston Diamonds. The team is ranked 4th out of 26 teams in the UK. The youngest player is 10 and the oldest is 34. The team boasts international talent too with representatives from the GB team, Team England, Team Wales and the Northern Conference teams. In addition the team has one of the most highly qualified coaches in the UK as their head coach. As you can see the Kingston Diamonds Ice Hockey Club has all the ingredients to remain a successful sporting organisation.

Having said that, success comes at a premium. With the clubs annual running costs being in the region of £6000, the playing members need pay hefty subscriptions of £120 a year. This is in addition to annual training fees of £140 per person, bus fares of £20 per away trip in addition to the cost of insurance and replacement equipment. In order to balance the books the club needs to raise an additional £3000 each year.

The club raises this in numerous ways ranging from raffles and car boot sales to generous donations. The following lists the many ways that you or your organisation may help the club raise funds. Some donations being as little as £5 for a square on the kit sponsorship grid right through to £1000 to purchase and sponsor a home strip for two seasons.

Please take time to read through the list, any assistance would be gratefully received even by attending one of our home fixtures and buying a program for £1 you would be helping the club. Although it must be stressed that without the more significant donations the clubs success would lie in the balance.

Methods of assisting the club

Shirt Sponsorship

The EIHA requires teams to have both a home strip and an away strip. From a recent quote it would cost £2056.25 to provide both strips for the team. Therefore new shirt sponsorship is £1000 per strip. For this the sponsor would have input in the design, their logo on the shirt, an article in a local newspaper advertising the deal, an advert/link on the Kingston Diamonds web-site, and a half a page advert in all of the seasons home match day programs. In recognition for such a considerable contribution your organisations name will remain on the sponsored shirts for two seasons.

Helmet Sponsorship – For a donation of £150 plus the provision of helmet stickers your organisation could be the teams helmet sponsor for the season.

Trophy Sponsorship – Trophy Sponsorship –

For the cost of manufacturing the "spirit of the game tropies" you may sponsor the home "spirit of the game" trophies for the 2003/4 season. For this you may present the trophies at the not already sponsored home games, have an advert/link on the Kingston Diamonds web-site and a half a page advert in all of the 2003/4 seasons home match day programs.

Game Sponsorship

An individual or organisation may sponsor a home game for £50. For this they will have the honour of presenting the "spirit of the game" trophies and a mention on either the Kingston Diamonds web-site and/or the match day program.

Program Advertisement

Advertisement space is available in the match day programs at the cost of either £50 for a full-page (A5) or £30 for half a page (A6). This means an advertisement being placed on a minimum of 10 separate occasions throughout the season.

Web-site Sponsorship

The Kingston Diamonds web-site is visited regularly by numerous players and hockey fans across the country and is an ideal medium to advertise especially if your organisation has web-space as the advert may also be a hyperlink to your site. This form of advertisement may be provided at a rate of £10 per small advert/link or for £100 per season your organisation may sponsor the web-space having a larger advert/link placed on the bottom of each page. The Kingston Diamonds web address is www.kingstondiamonds.karoo.net

Individual Player Sponsorship Grid

For a minimum donation of £5 you may sponsor an item of equipment for one of the girls. For this you will have your name printed on the sponsorship grid featured in the match day program. There are 20 girls to choose from and numerous items to sponsor.

Raffle Prize donation

Even the donation of an unwanted gift would go towards raising funds. The team holds raffles at home games, which help boost funds.

Bonus Balls

The club would like to extend the participation of their bonus ball lottery. For £13 a quarter a bonus ball can be purchased. When your bonus ball is drawn as a National Lottery Lotto bonus ball on a Wednesday you or your organisation wins £25, there are also 3 bonus draws each year at Christmas, New Year and Easter when the prize fund is raised to £49.

Become a match day supporter

The easiest and cheapest way to sponsor the team is to come and watch a game. At the game you may purchase some raffle tickets or a program. Every little helps. The Diamonds home schedule for the 2004/05 season can be viewed by clicking on the link. Please check with the Hull Arena on 01482 325252 before you set off.
