THE CHRISTMAS STAR.

May the Light that shone from the Christmas Star
On that night so long ago.
Fall on you this Christmas night and set your face aglow.
May it shine from your eyes.
May it rest in your mind.
May it burn in your Spirit bright.
May the Peace it spoke to a weary world.
Bring joy to your heart tonight.

ONE BABY BORN.

One baby born in the darkness of time
One baby born for the good of mankind.
So small, so frail, so meek was He,
Who would have thought
The Son of God He would be?
One baby born to laugh and play,
One baby born to give us hope that day.
So small, so frail, so meek was He,
Who would have thought
His mission was to die on the tree?
One baby born to suffer for all,
One baby born, to die was His call.
So small, so frail, so meek was He,
Who would have thought He held the Key
That opens Life's Gate to Victory?
One baby born in the darkness of time,
One baby born for the good of mankind,
So small, so frail, so meek was He,
A gift of Love for you and me.

AN ANGEL OF THE LORD APPEARED TO THEM.

An angel of the Lord appeared to them,
and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
and they were so afraid.
But the angel said to them "Do not be afraid.
I bring you good news of great joy
that will be for all the people.

Today in the town of David a Savior
has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
This will be a sign to you.
You will find a baby wrapped in
swaddling clothes and lying in a manger".

CHRISTMAS.

Christmas is more than a day in December
It's all of those things that we love to remember...
It's carolers singing familiar refrains.
Bright-colored stockings and shiny toy trains...
Streamers of tinsel and glass satin balls.
Laughter that rings through the house and its halls...

Christmas is more than a day in December...
It's the magic and love that we'll always remember.

MY CHRISTMAS PRAYER.

Dear Lord! I ask this Christmas day,
One gift! All else above;
And I do sincerely pray,
Lord! Send it with thy love.

A gift so precious to us all,
A light of hope and hearts renew;
No greater gift could us befall,
Nor joy that once we knew.

It would unite the world around,
And men and nations free;
Oh, for that joyous sound,
Wherever we may be.

Lord! Give it forth to every land,
And cause all wars to cease;
Heard by every tribal band,
The gift I seek is peace.

A DAY TO REMEMBER.

"It was like any other busy day
The crowds thronged every narrow stony street
The inns were full with travellers who came
From far and near, with weary dust-grimed feet
How could this landlord know that all mankind
Would point accusing fingers at his head
Because the only room that he could find
For God incarnate, was a manger-bed?

It was an ordinary, quiet night
The air was still, the shepherds huddled deep
Into the hollows of the fields, eyes strained
To pierce the shadows, as they watched their sheep
But it would be a night that all their days
And in the future as the years rolled on
Would be the focus of transcendent praise
Because God loved enough to send His Son

And is today an ordinary day?
Nothing to mark it out from all the rest?
Yet still the challenge comes to us, Make room!
There's someone here who wants to be your Guest?
The room is rough and dirty? Let Him clean
And make that secret closet pure and bright
Or hear again the angel's glorious theme
And find the Saviour on this special night!"

CHRISTMAS MEMORIES.

The ornaments upon our tree
Have secrets of their own,
Of other trees and Christmases
That each of them have known.
The chipped ones hung upon our trees
Before the children came;
The elves were bought for our first son
Who gave them each a name;
Our daughter made the paper rings
When she was only three;
And we all picked out the angel
That crowns our Christmas tree.
They're all different shapes and colors,
But we know and love them all.
And if they could only speak,
What joys they could recall.

RECIPE FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS.

To a cup of tradition, time-honored and dear,
Add a generous portion of holiday cheer,
Combine with the memories of Christmases past,
Then sprinkle the mixture with joy unsurpassed.
Add a dash or good spirits, stir fondly until...
You set it to rise in the warmth of good will.
Pour love over all in generous measure,
And garnish with laughter and heartwarming pleasure.

HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS.

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer
Pullin' on the reins
Bells are ringin', children singin'
All is merry and bright
Hang your stockings and say your prayers
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
He's got a bag that's filled with toys
For boys and girls again
Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle,
Oh what a beautiful sight
So jump in bed and cover your head
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
He doesn't care if you're rich or poor
He loves you just the same
Santa Claus knows we're all Gods children
That makes everything right
So fill your hearts with Christmas cheer
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
He'll come around when the chimes ring out
That it's Christmas morn again
Peace on earth will come to all
It we just follow the light
So lets give thanks to the lord above
That Santa Claus comes tonight!

FOLLOW THE STAR.

Follow the star of Bethlehem;
It's a beacon, for all men on earth.
For it shows us God's plan of salvation,
An announcement of our Savior's birth.

Follow the star to Bethlehem,
And find that it leads to a cross;
Where God's only son was delivered,
To give of Himself, at great cost.

Follow the star at Bethlehem,
To worship God's beloved son.
Give Him your life and devotion,
And be grateful salvation is won.

Follow the star at Bethlehem,
It'll guide you, wherever you are;
You'll have peace and a life of contentment,
As you follow the Bethlehem star.

A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE.

As Christmas arrives, as it does every year,
We hope it brings happiness, comfort and cheer.
To replace all the hustle and shopping around,
May serenity, peace and contentment abound.

The true message of Christmas is told to us clear,
The Advent of Jesus, and "be of good cheer".
The Father in Heaven has sent down His Son,
In the form of a baby for our redemption.

Let's take time to thank Him and worship His Son,
And be grateful the work of redemption is done;
For our Savior was hung on a cross for our deeds,
'Tis the best gift at Christmas, one that each of us needs.

WHEN SANTA CLAUS COMES.

A good time is coming, I wish it were here,
The very best time in the whole of the year;
I'm counting each day on my fingers and thumbs --
the weeks that must pass before Santa Claus comes.

Then when the first snowflakes begin to come down,
And the wind whistles sharp and the branches are brown,
I'll not mind the cold, though my fingers it numbs,
For it brings the time nearer when Santa Claus comes.

IT'S A JOY TO GET TOGETHER.

It's a joy to get together
At the Christmas holidays,
To see the family once again
Down at the old home place.
To see the little children
With faces shining bright
And hear the happy voices
Not heard when out of sight.

It's a joy to get together
At this season of the year,
To share the things of Christmas
With those we hold so dear.
To read the Christmas Story
Of how Jesus came to earth;
It's a joy to get together
At this season of Christ's birth.

SNOWBIRD.

Snowbird high among the branches
You are blessedly content,
With your glistening feathers shining,
Like a Christmas ornament.
Chirping out the season's greetings,
Every note in sweet accord,
Small, bright-eyed ambassador,
Belonging to the Lord.

Snowflakes fall in gay abandon,
As you spread your wings in flight,
Will you journey through the heavens,
Over Bethlehem tonight?
Will you hear the angels singing,
As the shepherds kneel to pray?
Will you nestle in the warm hand,
Of the Manger Child today?

Snowbird ever rising higher,
As I strain my eyes to see,
One last flash of wing, and vainly
Wish that I might follow thee.
But man's feet were made for walking,
Past the darkness to the light,
Still I think our destinations
Must remain the same. . . tonight.

WE CELEBRATE.

We trim a tree and wrap up gifts
With festive colors bright,
We gather 'round a cozy fire
To sing "O Holy Night."
We cook a juicy turkey
And make big fancy pies,
And plan to find some special ways
To strengthen family ties.
There are many different customs
We share o'er all the earth,
As we celebrate the coming
Of our our Lord's holy birth!
