Who will benefit by attending?

These workshops are designed for those people making the transition from a traditionally managed department or work group to a Self Managed Team.  These people will be required to work together differently and handle problems that were managed by others previously.

Workshop content:

What are Self Managed Teams?
Benefits of Self Managed Teams.
Challenges on the road to Self Managed Teams.
The Team Transition Model.
Phase One: Plan - Set the stage; purpose; mission; core values; communication.
Phase Two: Analyze - Team management responsibilities; work responsibilities and cross training; having the right attitude to succeed; policies and procedures that need to be changed.
Phase Three: Design - Team management and administration responsibilities; work flow; how the team will interact; detailed flow chart of major tasks.
Phase Four: Implement - An action plan for initial projects; performing tasks and responsibilities on schedule; contingency plans to meet problems.
Phase Five: Evaluate - Gaining feedback from each other; internal and external customers; and internal suppliers; celebrate success.

Workshop outcomes:

By attending these workshops participants will gain a solid foundation for planning and organizing the transition to Self Managed Teams.  They will have learned the issues to expect, and how to deal with them, during the transition to becoming a Self Managed Team.
