Firstly thanks to Mariette and all of those who assisted and helped run the Epee Team Championships. Once again a fine days fencing with team representing all of the major Epee clubs. It was also reassuring to see several new faces along with all our regular attendees.  
Congratulations to this years champions, Chelmsford A (Matt Sellick, Mike Staines and Richard Sims) who won in a well mannered, at times close and exciting final against their long time rivals CADS (Edward Coultrup, Mervyn Warner and Stephen Brackin).
Club loyalties aside I am please to see a different club take the championship after CADS's long reign as County Champions.  

Don't forget there is a lottery subsidised epee course at Colchester next Sunday 25th February 2001 (see web page for details) and I trust that the County Team Foil is as successful as the Epee.

Special mention
To Adam From Wickford in his first competition after only two months fencing and although fencing in a team of two with Chas he said he did enjoy himself -
And, obvoiusly to my team mate Brian as we both earned our first medals ever .
Another good day for Southend F C with six fencers with medals
