The Fencing in Essex website has been designed to give information on what is happening regarding fencing within the County , to help potential and regular Fencers keep up to date on events, and to try to provide a central reference point for the Clubs operating within the area.
How to find us, When the competitions are coming up , News on what is happening with regard to fencing and Fencers.
But most of all the Essex County Fencing Union website has been created to help as many people as possible enjoy all the aspects of the sport of fencing whether its in Essex or elsewhere
But for it to be useful, it needs to rely on information and that's where we need your help to keep up the flow of information
- So if you know something tell us- We can then include it and tell everybody else
Anyone got any good Fencing Photo's for the Photo page
Obviously, this is a new adventure for Essex and this is it's first webpages , to improve we need feedback Please tell us what you think, what you like, what you don't like and anything that we have got wrong.
If there is something you would like included on these webpages please tell us.
Hope you enjoy your visit - Don't forget to add this to your Favourites and hopefully by your next visit more will be here for you to see.
The more links to this page the better for us

The County of Essex has much to offer the fencer, whatever their level of experience, their age or ability. There are clubs in the major centres of population, most of who have experienced coaches providing training in all three weapons.
Essex hold it's own County Championships in all three weapons , both team and individual, and runs its own Junior Championships. The County also enters the Excaliber inter-county team tournament and runs it's own inter-county team tournament - The Read Cup. A cup competition created to honour Chas and Pat Read for their many years of dedicated service in running the county.
ECFU publishes a newsletter "Points in Line" which is received by all the BFA affiliated clubs. If your clubs is not receiving their copy let us know. As Editor I welcome articles from clubs, coaches or fencers for inclusion.
All in all Essex can meet the requirements of most fencers whether they be High ranked internationals or simply out to enjoy a sociable evening fencing.
In Essex we believe that our fencing should be fun as well as competitive, and whilst annual Fencing competitions are held and medals awarded, we believe Fencing is a sport for all to take part and enjoy week in week out throughout the year at club nights irrespective of the standard.
If you have not tried the sport and want to have a go either contact a club from the list or turn up when they meet and have a chat , you will always be made welcome
