AWARDS FOR ALL LOTTERY GRANT
TO COLCHESTER & DISTRICT FENCING CLUB (CADS)
Earlier this year CADS made a application to Awards For All for a Millennium Lottery Award.to help develop Epee at the CADS club and in the County

We are now pleased to announce that the application has been successful
and express our grateful thanks to Awards For All
And can advise Fencers of the planned use of the award.

The award is being given to part fund the development of Epee at the club and in the County

  • In the County the award is being given to subsidise Personal Performance Courses and Coaching Courses in Epee for members of ECFU clubs and from other clubs within the Region
    .
  • And in Cads it will be used to purchase additional Epee equipment, for use primarily at CADS where epee has been targeted as an area requiring development. This follows an ongoing review made as the club celebrated its 25th year.

So if you always wanted to fence Epee now might be the chance

The personal performance courses
These course will enable new fencers or existing fencers who are new to the weapon to train with epee.
An experienced epee coach, from one of the top London Clubs, will take two of the courses and it is the intention to hold four courses in the first year
(There will be some limited space for more experienced fencers to brush up on their key skills but it must be stressed that the courses are aimed primarily at the target groups )..

The coaching courses will be aimed at the following,
  • Those new to coaching,
Those who already coach but do not coach epee,
Those who already coach the weapon but want to up-grade or renew their skills.

These courses will not be tied into obtained qualifications in the first instance, but will serve as good preparation for examination courses, that maybe set up later.
