From London and the north east take the M3 - M27 - A31 - A338 route to Bournemouth. You now have a choice of two routes to take, either round Poole harbour on the A35 and then onto Wareham via the A351 into Swanage. The alternative is to take the more picturesque route via the Sandbanks Ferry. The ferry runs from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m every day and currently costs £2.20 each way for a car. However, during the summer months, especially mornings, queues mean it may be quicker for you to take the route via Wareham.
The nearest station is at Wareham, which is two hours from Waterloo. For other routes we advise you to go via Southampton. For train timetables, see the 'Links' page. There is a regular bus service from Wareham to Swanage and you need to take the 142, 143 or 144 bus. |
Location of Hotel:
|
It is about six miles from the ferry to the hotel. After a few miles you will approach the village of Studland - drive through the village and continue along the road until you see the sign for Swanage (this is a left fork in the road). Continue on this road until you see the "Welcome to Swanage" sign on the left - at this point you will be at the top of the map on the right. Pass a telephone box and post box on your left and then a few hundred yards on you will see a small shop on the left. Follow the road round but stay in the left hand lane and Streche Road will be on your left followed very quickly by Victoria Road. The hotel is on the left about 100 yards from the junction.
From Wareham follow the road through Corfe Castle and Harmans Cross until reaching the "Welcome to Swanage" sign on your left. Continue along this road until you reach the sea (clock tower in front of you) - at this point turn left and go along the seafront and drive past the Ferry Boat Inn and the Crow's Nest Pub on your left and take the second turning on the right into Victoria Road. |
