MacDuff's Castle This ruin lies on the cliff-top above the Wemyss caves near East Wemyss. This tower is the only remaining part of a large building which was first built in the 13/14th centuries and added to or demolished as the owners or attackers saw fit. MacDuff originally had his castle on this site but there have been many other owners including Livingstones and Colvilles until the first Earl of Wemyss bought it. Until 1967 there were two towers but unfortunately the other was demolished after being declared unsafe.
