 What Do You See?

By Bryony Charles

In the glossy water, what do you see?
I see a damselfly, skimming peacefully.
Its bright blue body glittering in the sunlight,
When it lands and when it’s in full flight.

In the glossy water, what do you see?
I see a frog, staring up at me.
Catching flies on its long sticky tongue,
Sitting on water lilies all day long.

In the glossy water, what do you see?
I see a goldfish, happy is he.
Swimming silently through the waters so clear,
Hoping that soon its food will be here.

In the glossy water, what do you see?
I see a colourful kingfisher hiding in the trees.
Gleaming gold, crimson and sapphire,
Then it dives down, as fast as spreading fire.

In the glossy water, what do you see?
There looking up, I see …  me!

 You

By Jessica Faiers

Take a look at yourself in the mirror
What kind of person are you?
Are you happy, are you sad?
Are you good, are you bad?
Are you helpful, are you unkind?
Are you relaxed or do things get on your mind?
Which one are you?

Are you none?
Are you all?
Are you some?
Are you two?

Which one are you?

 Memories

By Sophie Marner

As I sat by the fire in my little wooden chair,
I began to close my eyes with tender care,
As I closed my eyes I thought about the past,
And remembered all my memories that would always last,

I thought about my childhood,
And how I slept in the spooky wood,
I was the bravest of the brave,
And I had my own special cave,

I carved my name on all the trees,
And travelled over all the seas,
I swung on all the treetops,
And hid in all of the farmers crops,

But now I’m all stiff and old,
And I’m stuck in this cottage in the cold,
I am not as young as I used to be,
But at least I have my memories.
