Recently, through either intensive research or contact with strange magical entities, new schools of magic have opened up. These grant their practitioners access to a new range of spells specific to that school. The schools of magic can be learnt only from specific instructors.

Chronomancy
The discipline of Chronomancy is the obscure magic of time itself. Each level of Chronomancy grants four new spells which can only be cast by a Chronomancer of that level. Chronomancers can write copies of their specialist spells from memory and do not need an original scroll to copy from.

Chronomancy can only be taught by one who is already a Chronomancer. The basic costs to learn the skill are 500 XP and 500 GP, plus whatever the teacher may choose to charge. Chronomancers of Lvl 1 can advance to Chronomancy Lvl 2 at a cost of 1000 XP and 500 GP.

The four spells known by Level 1 Chronomancers, the order to make a copy of the scroll, and the cost to do so are as follows:
- Precognition, X 8474, 100 GP
- Time Flux, X 8475, 250 GP
- Local Temporal Reversal, X 8476 100 GP
- Local Temporal Acceleraton, X 8477, 500 GP

At least two Assembly members are known to have mastered Chronomancy - they are Osiris and Lady Eleanor deManfess. Both can be contacted through the Assembly noticeboard.

Cryomancy
Cryomancy is the magical school of extreme cold. Each level of Cryomancy grants four new spells which can only be cast by a Cryomancer of that level, and Cryomancers can write copies of their spells direct from memory and do not need an original to copy from.

The four spells known by Level 1 Cryomancers, the order to make a copy of the scroll and the cost to do so are as follows:-
- Freeze 'X' '8464' 50 GPs.
- Windchill 'X' '8465' 50 GPs.
- Summon Frost Creature 'X' '8466' 50 GPs.
- Cold As Ice 'X' '8467' 50 GPs.

Cryomancy can only be learnt from someone who already possesses the skill, at a basic cost of 500 XP and 500 GP, plus whatever fee the teacher chooses to charge. Cryomancers of Level 1 can advance to Cryomancy Level 2 at a cost of 1000 XP and 500 GP.

It is believed that at present the only teacher of Cryomancy is one Araura Gaeth'Cath, an Enchantress unaffiliated to any Guild. She can be contacted through The Academy of Instructors.

Shroomancy
In the Underworld, on the mainland not far from White Tower Island, stands a growth, or an entity, or a bit of both, dubbed The Great Mushroom. Accounts suggest that the Great Mushroom is somehow sentient, and sufficiently favourably disposed to adventurers from the surface that it is willing to teach them new skills relating to things fungoid. Another such entity dwells in King Slime’s Keep.

The Great Mushroom teaches five skills, three of which can be learnt by any adventurer, the fourth only available to Enchanters and the fifth only to Necromancers.

The skills are as follows:
1/ Mold Slayer (100 XP, 100 GP): teaches the expert slaying or fungal and mold creatures
2/ Moldskin (100 XP, 100 GP): teaches poor hygiene as a defence mechanism (eugh!)
3/ Summon Mushroom (200 XP, 200 GP): teaches the right way to bring intelligent vegetables to your assistance
4/ Shroomancer (500 XP, 500 GP) gives four new mushroom spells for enchanters
5/ Dark Fungimancer (500 XP, 500 GP): gives four new fungal spells for Necromancers.

With these last two skills 4 backpack slots must be available for the new scrolls (unlike Chronomancy and Cryomancy an original is still required to copy a spell).

The spells learnt by a ‘Shroomancer are as follows:
- Black Mould Poultice (25 GP)
- Fine Spore Cloud (25 GP)
- Mushrooms Of Madness (25 GP)
- Repel Fungoids (25 GP)
