St Hilda's today
St Hilda's is the parish church of the Headland, a unique part of
Hartlepool which is physically quite separate from the rest of the town. The church seeks to proclaim the gospel through worship, pastoral support and organisations including Sunday School, Girls' and Boys' Brigades and Ladies' Fellowship and is an active member of Churches Together on the Headland.
The St Nicholas' Chapel acts as a focus for St Hilda's ministry to
bereaved parents throughout the region. There is a long musical tradition - we have a small but enthusiastic four-part choir and a large three-manual organ which was rebuilt in 1990-1, when some electronic additions were made. Occasional concerts and exhibitions also form part of the church's life. |

The church itself is clearly visible from the recently developed Marina and Heritage Quay and can easily be visited along with
them. A member of the Open Churches Trust, St Hilda's welcomes visitors both to services and on Saturdays from 2 to 4 pm throughout the year - also on Wednesdays and Sundays from 2 to 4 pm from Easter to September - when you are invited to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with us.
