Little Samson Models

The purpose of Little Samson Models is to supply drawings and castings of the Savage 'Little Samson ' steam tractor and the Savage 'Universal Carrier' steam wagon. Castings are available for the Little Samson in 3", 4" and 6" scale; and the wagon in 3" scale. The 3" scale Little Samson is 3' 5" long, in 4" scale 4' 7" long, and in 6" scale 6'10" long. The 3" wagon is 4' 10" long.Little Samson Models hopes to always have ample stock to enable imediate despatch. Machine cut gears, including the differential, are stock items for all models. Payment is by cheque, sorry no cards, and cheques should be made payable to Little Samson Models. VAT is not payable, postage is at cost, packaging free.

Construction Guide
A fully illustrated Little Samson construction series has been published in Model Engineer in 40 installments completing in September 2003. These have been re-edited and expanded to make 'Scale Model Traction engine Design and Consruction', a hard back book, dust cover, 248 pages, 590 illustrations, and chapter 1 in colour. There are 12 chapters and it is full of useful hints and tips.

Builders' forum:

A Little Samson builder, Don, moderates a builders' forum. It is highly recommended, try http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/samson_builders/
The group has proved very successful, there are now 91 members. There are dozens more pictures, plus numerous hints and tips.

A Dream Comes True :

David Keary, a 3" scale Little Samson builder (and soon to be 6" scale builder), has recently published 'A dream Comes True' which records in pictures and text the construction of his model. It is an excellent A5 soft covered book with over 80 pages packed with useful information, hints and tips. The book offers outstanding value at just £6 including postage and packing.
