In the photograph for Softly Softly, note top left a very young pre-That's Life Gavin Campbell. In a later series, the late Brian Hall (Terry the chef in the second series of Fawlty Towers) got his first big break playing a cheeky copper, who was a hero in one episode, saving an attempted suicide from jumping. But, shock horror, in the last programme of the series, his character was revealed to be corrupt (a la the late Paul Eddington in an early Dixon of Dock Green).
The two and a half second theme tune clips you can hear are The Protectors (Avenues and Alleyways) and Colditz. Which other programme pictured here are they connected to?
Well, Robert Vaughn starred in the Protectors, and David McCallum starred in Colditz - they both starred in the Man from UNCLE, of which the Girl from UNCLE was a spin-off! Click here to hear Girl from UNCLE television theme.
