29th July2003

This page is where we catch up with all the gigs played in July. Taking them in reverse order:
Newbury Bandstand
Beaver Barbeque
Northbourne Centre
St Birinus' Pilgrimage

27 July

Newbury Bandstand

Our first proper Bandstand performance of the season. There is lots to see on a hot Sunday afternoon in Newbury, which is beginning to take on the air of Dublin or York and making much more of the wonderful Kennet and Avon Canal.

Go here to find out who sent Queen Victoria to pot and have the very first view of the£129,000 water sculpture.

17th July

Wantage Festival Certificate Sombody had the bright idea of entering the band for a class in Wantage Festival.

15th July

Cub and Beaver Barbecue

This was a great evenings entertainment. I do sometimes wonder if this web site looks rather like an advertisement for "Ye Olde England" - all warm beer and cricket matches. I promise it reports the truth. This event had it all, beer, cricket and a warm sunny evening.

Click here to see the chaos when the Beavers met the Band.

6th July PM

Northbourne Centre, Didcot

Our second  concert of the day and a rather more formal event than we were expecting. For The A board makes its reappearance. More

6th July AM

St Birinus Pilgrimage

The start of the St Birinus Pilgrimage. Its one of the highlights of the year. This year the arrival of the clergy was delayed and we actually ran out of hymn book - so we started again. More

Our Next Event

25th August.

Didcot Hospital Fete.

This is a big big fund raiser for the Hospital League of Friends. Ice-cream, teas, book stall, silly games AND Blewbury Brass Band.
