09 November2003 Rememberance

Fr Russell's first Remembrance Service in Blewbury. We have now discovered from the minute book that the Band decided at its annual meeting in November 1914 to hold a Christmas concert in December to provide a Christmas gift to each of the Blewbury men serving in the Berkshire Regiment. The next set of minutes is dated 1919.

 30th November, Newbury

The earliest Christmas concert ever. A pitch outside Camp Hopson in Newbury

7th December

We announce our secret weapon in the war of the Charity Collection Tins. Jeremy has another birthday and there is a picture of the awesome Charlton School Bonfire.

13 December
Didcot Farmers Market

This was not really our final session of the season. The Band joined in the usual Blewbury Christmas Festivities. Pictures are on the first of the pages for 2004. We rather lost count of the the amount of days we played and the extra things that got fitted in somehow, but we think somewhere in the region of 20 events is the all time record, so thank you to everyone who played and everyone who listened and said very nice things about us.
