Red Letter Days are so called because they were printed in red in prayer books and almanacs, other
days were printed in black. The left-hand of the two images below shows the major Christian moveable feasts, the
date upon which these occur varies form year to year. Calisto's Red Letter Days window show the dates for the year
current in the main window.
The image on the right below shows the events which occur on the same day each year, they can be
viewed in chronological or alphabetical order. Many of these are saint's days - but there are other, mainly English,
days of celebration.
