Llanes, Asturias, Spain

Llanes can count on a great number of beaches, 30 (although I would say more), spread along the municipality.

La Playa de Sablón stands out among most. Just next to the San Pedro walk and within site of the old fort and the entrance to the harbour.

La Playa de Toró is of extraordinary beauty due to the abudance of rocks standing up out of its sands.

La Playa de Puertu Chicu, as the song goes: If you bathe in Puertu Chicu you will be Llaniscu at heart. It isn't very big and at high tide, there is hardly any beach left.

La Playa de Ballota, near to Cue with its characteristic island, is one of the most beautiful on the Llanes coastline.

La Playa de Poó is a well enclosed beach and at high tide it is like a swimming pool.

La Playa de Torimbia, of extraordinary beauty, near Niembro, has been considered for several years as the nudist beach of the municipality.

Playa de Cuevas del Mar, of fantastic beauty due to the cavities created in its rocks by the action of the sea. It is in Nueva de Llanes.

La Playa de Andrín, of great natural beauty, where the waves come in to lay down on the white sands of the beach.

Palombina, Borizo y San Martín are various beaches near Celorio with a view of the ancient Benedictine monastery, of great importance in the Middle Ages.

Playa de Gulpiyuri is a unique beach that is land-locked. The inland beach is fed through an underground cave. It has been declared a natural monument.

Playas de Miracielos y Sorraos in Barro are renowned beaches in the municipality with attractive islands and rocks.
