Wizzer" is how the WSR is affectionately known by all who work there or have worked there in the past. She is a very dear old lady with a special place in all our hearts!The West Somerset Railway is the longest preserved/heritage standard gauge railway in England.
I will not endeavour to give a history of the line on this site because this is well documented on other WSR sites, please follow the links to these other sites.
The pictures on this site are of steam locomotives, diesel locos, rolling stock and stations. In fact, anything that I can photograph as a pictorial record of the Wizzer.

I work as a volunteer on the WSR as a guard and shunter. Another task I undertake for the railway is the repair of the tail lamps. Recently, I have become a member of the DEPG, and I assist in maintaining the diesel fleet, and YES, that is why there are more diesel pictures than others!
