Dedicated to St Feock

 

1130 - The font is said to be earlier than the bell tower. It is made of rare Cataclew Stone.

 

1640- about this time the Cornish language ceased in the parish.

 

17th Century - The vicar if the time was forced to administer sacrament in Cornish at

the siege of Pendennis Castle because the Cornish did not understand English.

 

1846 - The church was renovated and enlarged as the vicar required a hundred more

seats for the poorer parishioners; as over half of the 250 seats were appropriated by

wealthier members of the congregation.

 

1874 - The church was found unsound so it was taken down and the stone used to

build a new one. It was designed by Piers St Aubyn

 

1875 - Foundation stone laid by Mrs Gilbert of Trelissick

 

1876 - August 1st New church consecrated
