Charlie Tales

I am often accused by some people of trying to tug at heart strings with Charlie stories but I have to say that every story I print is true.

Here are a couple of stories - which some of you may have seen before but which I hope will be of interest to our newer members.

The poem that follows, and the story on the next page, were both first featured in our 1999 Newsletter, and were sent in by members in response to an appeal for items for inclusion in the newsletter.

WHEN SALLY MET HARRY

Our little Sally was going away -
A trip down to Wales for a holiday.

Over the bridge and into the valley.
A visit with friends excited our Sally.

She arrived in the evening and growled at her host.
She wouldn't be quiet unless given toast.

But sat in a corner - two big brown eyes.
Staring back at our Sally was a handsome young guy.

Sally strolled over to just say 'Hello'.
To  talk about toast and her first walk in snow.

They sniffed as they went and played for hours.
Out in the garden among long grass and flowers.

Now they're inseparable and as happy as Larry.
Our little Sally and her new best friend Harry.
