These pages are my unofficial tribute to the American situation comedy series,

  • "The Golden Girls", (produced by Buena Vista & Touchstone pictures for the NBC network from 1985 to 1992),
    and the sequel,
  • "The Golden Palace", (produced for the CBS network for the 1992-3 season).

Please note that I have no direct connection with the series, the cast or the production company.

I maintain these web pages in the United Kingdom purely as a fan of the series, one of the most enjoyable tele-visual experiencies I have ever had. Judging from the quantity of emails that I continue to receive, the series was much loved around the world, and it is my hope that by maintaining this site, I can continue to revive the memories of the show, and encourage TV companies to re-run episodes, and maybe one day, the series will be available on video, (to my knowledge it isn't currently available anywhere).

I hope that you will browse this site, and the information that it contains, which has been collated from my own, currently incomplete collection of "Golden Girls" recordings, and the many contributions from around the world that fellow fans have sent me. If you have information that you would like to add to this site, please email me. Apologies if replies are not immediate. I receive alot of email, and processing it takes time, something that I haven't had alot of spare recently.

"The Golden Girls" told the story of four single mature women who enjoyed their "golden years" living in a sunny suburb of Miami amongst a neighbourhood of retirees.

"The Golden Girls" was a smash hit, winning ten EMMY awards, including best comedy (twice). Each of the shows four leading ladies won the best actress or best supporting actress award. There were seven series (or seasons) in all, with a total of 180 episodes.

The pilot episode featured Coco, the gay housemaid. This character was dropped for the rest of the series.

(Please note that there were some one-hour specials that were split in the UK as two half-hour episodes. As the episode guide on this page was primarily intented to help me catalogue my collection, it therefore reflects all shows as half-hour shows).

By 1992, Bea Arthur, who played Dorothy, stated that she wished to leave the series, and so a new plot was created for "The Golden Palace". The three remaining girls, pooled their money and invested in a small art-deco hotel in the trendy South-Bay section of Miami Beach. However, just like the hotel, the series wasn't making any profits, and so was dropped after the first season.
