The History of 432 (Woodbridge) ATC Squadron

Here is a little history of the 432 ATC Squadron.

432 (Woodbridge & District) Squadron was formed on 16th February 1941. Following the end of the Second World War the Squadron mustered in the Gas Board Showrooms for a while. The Squadron then moved to a large cabin in Chapel Street. During these years the Squadron had Detached Flights in Butley, Grundisburgh and Wickham Market. Due to the changes within the new Air Training Corps organisation and waning support all the Detached Flights were disbanded.

In 1966 the ATC Squadron was offered part use of the Drill Hall, Quayside, by the Territorial Army together with the local Army Cadet Force Company. The benefit of this arrangement has meant that the Squadron has the use of a comfortable sized hall for drill, training rooms, offices and the only small bore rifle range in the town.
