Marshalling

We attend several events throughout the year where we offer our services to other local clubs and organisations. Some of these are voluntary where all the profits go to charities, such as Little Havens Childrens Hospice. Others, such as the Gunners Park Firework Display, we receive donations to our club which enables us to pay the rent for our new club base and to have funds for our free camping weekends, social nights out, and things like the hiring of punts when we all go 'punting at cambridge'. We encourage club members to assist at these events as not only does it raise funds for the club, it also allows the members to work together as a team which is encouraged in any organisation. We try to keep the marshalling events local and most are only for a few hours although events like the 'Southend Airshow' and the 'Ace Cafe Southend Shakedown' can involve being on call for most of the day. These days are great fun and most club members turn up for every event.
