Little Bears Family Homeschool

Our Proposed 'Rolling' History Programme
We are currently developing a curriculum with a view to providing what we call an "holistic" education (that is, as broad an education as possible, emphasising the inter-connectedness of all things), with the study of History as its foundation. We were concerned to provide a good grounding in the understanding of the flow of History, hence the need for chronological study, and we felt that in this area particularly, the National Curriculum falls far short of our expectations.
We felt that, although we are talking about several thousand years, *(Note) of History, any understanding of the flow would be lost by stretching the study over many years.
Our plan, therefore, is to have a 'rolling' programme of the whole 12,000 years in a year!, going a bit more deeply every year (We will elaborate on this as we develop the programme)

Australasia & The Americas and [5] Britain.
YEARS 10 and 11 (age 15-16) At this stage,
you may wish to follow the
National Curriculum in preparation for GCSE's
Note on the beginning of our History Programme:-
* We decided to start our study of History around the 4,000 BC mark as it was before this time views of "pre-History" differ into Evolutionist (Mark) and Creationist (Sharon) camps, so we felt it would be more appropriate to leave the study of pre-4,000 BC until a later stage!
