You can find a list of british christian bands at http://www.jesusfreak.com/britlinks
This is just a small selection of bands I have been interested in:-
* Soul
Survivor * WWMT * Jerusalem * Stryper * Helen
Shapiro *
* Cliff Richard *
Soul Survivor (if I've got this right) are a band based in Watford at a Youth Outreach church of the same name, sponsored by the Church of England. Apparently it's a real hip & happening place! Their homepage is at:- http://www.ravello.co.uk/soul-survivor/contents.htm
These guys are very difficult to get hold of! I saw them in concern in Croydon at a very rare concert, & they were excellent. Wow what energy! The background to their dance music is experience of being homeless in Manchester, where I'm told they now rent flats in the most run-down area of the city & hope to bring a Christian influence where angels fear to tread! They also have a mission to schools. I've found two sites, their own homepage:- http://www.message.org.uk/ and one from their music company:- http://www.wbr.com/alliance/wwmessagetribe.index/html
Jerusalem are a Swedish Christian Hard-rock band from the early 70's!
The best page I have found is: http://hem.passagen.se/bransell/Jerusalem.html it is a Swedish fan's site, but it's all in English. There's loads of info including a band biography.
Stryper (Salvation Through Redemption Yielding Peace... or something) is an American Glam-rock band. I haven't actually visited any Stryper pages myself, but UBL has a page with some links:-
http://www.ubl.com/artists/00757572.htmlI'm aware that some Christians don't think much of heavy metal Christian bands, and Stryper in particular because of the way they dress etc., but if you can get beyond that, they're actually providing a much needed ministry to kids that otherwise would never have anything to do with middle-class Christianity, and if you look at what they're actually saying, they're strongly Bible based (or at least that was my experience at the time I used to listen to them in the late 80s).
I haven't managed to find much on Helen Shapiro yet. UBL do have a page but there's not much in the way of links. There's also a fan club but it's a bit of sad page, so I'll keep on searching for links. I saw her in concert at a little place in Bedford where she shared her testimony of how she came to accept the Messiah.
There seems to be masses about Cliff Richard! Still as popular as ever! UBL's page has some good links:- http://www.ubl.com/artists/005387.html
Contents
* Eternal * Abba * The Carpenters *
Still looking for links, but I know there's lots of good sites out there. I'm not sure what section to put this in, as I believe Eternal are Christians, but it's not exclusively Christian music.
Here's a dutch fan's site: http://regina.www.cistron.nl/Abba.in2.html Regina also owns a web-ring with lots of links:- http://webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=abbaring;list
and also a web-ring for anything to do with Swedish Music: the Sounds of Sweden web-ring:- http://www.webring.org/cgi.bin/webring?ring=sosweden;list and check out THE Abba tribute band: Björn Again www.bjornagain.com
I grew up listening to the Carpenters! UBL has some links:- http://www.ubl.com/ubl/cards/008/3/87.html
Suzanne's page is probably one of the best, and she owns a Carpenters web-ring for more links:-

Check out a great Gospel choir in Sweden:- Vasagospel: http://home.bip.net/anders/frykWe listen a lot to Jazz FM Radio (or used to when we were living in range):- link to follow
I don't really know much about folk music but it's something I would like to know more about. We quite like a group called Pentangle, but it's not mentioned here as far as I can tell, but this looks like quite a good resource page for English folk music: http://www.sarcon/demon.co.uk/engfolk/engfolkp.htm
I'm afraid my knowledge of country music or country & western begins & ends with Dolly Parton. I'll be looking for links & let you know what I find!
We listen to Classic FM radio a little. Unfortunately I can't say I recommend it - it's a bit like "classical music for the masses" the way they present it (if only they'd stop the chat & play the music), but I'll look for a link & paste it in when I find it.

* Kingsway Music * Wesley Owen * more to follow...
Kingsway Music seems to be one of, if not the biggest Christian music publisher in the UK (although I'm not sure whether it's a UK company). I know there's a website, but I've lost the link - I'll paste it in when I find it.
This is big chain of UK Christian Book & music shops (used to be owned by Scripture Union). They've recently made a website, but it's quite a good one: http://www.wesleyowen.co.uk (that's an educated guess! let me know if it's wrong)
