Planning - Starting out with Home Education

We are still very much in the planning stages of our home education, and I thought I would share with you some of the internet sites that I have found particularly useful to aid us in our planning for home education, as follows:-

"The House of Hugs" is a Christian homeschooling family in Minnesota.
Read what they have to say on the question of socialisation:-
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/8004/homeschool.html

the above family are a member of the Minnesota Christian homeschool support group, MÂCHÉ. Although, obviously, most of its links are to American groups, it's still a great resource. http://www.mache.org/toc.htm

Take a look at Tamara Eaton's Homeschooling Time Management Tips:- (from the Christian Homeschool Fellowship website which I think is a great resource) http://gocin.com/homeschool/tips-1.htm
take a look also at their getting started page,
http://www.gocin.com/homeschool/getstart.htm

There are some really useful articles at the "Homeschooling How-to for Canada" website:- http://www.life.ca/hs/index.html

There are some useful links at the "Family-safe start-up page for homeschooling":- http://www.startup-page.com/homeschl.htm

It's useful to set out clearly your reasons for choosing home education. This useful document from a christian family in Colorado inspired me to draw up our own rationale:- http://www.chec.org/html/level_1_general_info.html

If you are looking for Scriptural references to back up your reasons for homeschooling, take a look here:- http://gocin.com/homeschool/scriptures.htm

"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NKJ
