Okay, so if you thought we really have a "throne room" I'm afraid you'll be disappointed! (although in some circles "throne-room" used as a euphemism for w.c., and he have plenty of those!)
I do believe that the Royal Family are essentially placed in a position of authority by God, and further, I believe that as such, they have a responsibility under God to rule in a manner pleasing to Him.
By extension, the same applies to Her Majesty's Government. I can't say I like or am even particularly interested in "politics" but I think it may be important to keep abreast of what the Government (and the Royal Family) are doing, and if it's contrary to God's Word, it's our responsibility as Christian citizens to make our views known, if only at a local level!

When Prince Charles ascends the throne, he will officially take on the title of "the defender of the [Anglican] Faith". Tragically, he does not seem even to be a confessor of any faith at all: he was reported as saying something along the lines of "I don't see why I can't be the defender of all faiths".
HM Queen Elizabeth II
I recently signed a Petition to the Queen regarding her failure to keep her Coronation Promises, produced by an individual Christian. I'm looking for a link which outlines the Promises the petition referred to. I think it was along the lines of defending the Christian faith (see also Prince Charles above), and some of the things the petition was objecting to was the introduction of such laws as the one which allows abortion, and the repealing of the law which prohibited witchcraft.
HM Government
